3 new and simple ways to boost your immunity

Apart from following the COVID-19 appropriate behaviour, the experts are recommending people to work on their immunity. Staying at home, getting vaccinated and keeping our immunity up and tight are some of the ways we can prevent the novel coronavirus from infecting us.

Here are three simplest and easy ways to boost your immunity:

2/4

Pop a vitamin D supplement

In a study conducted on kids, where they were given 1200 IU vitamin D3 daily were nearly 60 per cent less likely to come down with cold and flu than kids who were not given vitamin D.

You must have vitamin D rich foods, spend some time in the sun or consume vitamin D supplement to keep your immunity up and tight.

3/4

Turn down a second helping

A study conducted by Tufts University found that when 46 overweight men and women ate fewer calories for six months, their immune systems functioned better. Cutting calories by just 10 per cent can do the trick for overweight people. Other studies have also found similar results where people lost around 5 kilos of weight in one month.

4/4

Have high fibre foods

In a study, mice were fed soluble fibre (the type found in oats and apples). These showed fewer signs of illness when they were given substances that tricks the body into acting as if it is infected with any bacteria. Though human studies are needed to confirm the findings, there is no harm in eating a fibre-rich diet.
