Hidden elephant challenge

At first glance, you will feel like looking at a pile of rocks. However, do not underestimate these rocks as they will either take the shape of an elephant or an elephant is hidden under it. It is your job to quickly locate the elephant in under 5 seconds and prove your visual prowess. Keep in mind that the clock is ticking and you’ll lose the challenge if you go beyond the time limit.

2/12

Why are these challenges important for brain health?

Optical illusions mainly serve as a valuable tool in visual research and help in the visual processing of impaired and typical brains. These illusions are captivating images that challenge our visual perception promoting cognitive flexibility and helping our brain tackle complicated issues. If one masters these visual puzzles then they surely will have a better focus strength and will be capable of solving hard problems quickly.

3/12

Are optical illusions safe to look at?

Everything should be done within limits. Therefore, optical illusion will never hurt one’s eyes unless you look at the illusion for a long time. This can develop an eyestrain and can also cause headaches as some illusions seem to move as they trick our minds. Therefore, if you experience double vision or pain after watching an optical illusion then it might be a sign of a serious condition.

4/12

How do illusions trick our minds?

Illusion pictures mainly arrange a series of patterns, colors, and images, strategically which play with the main object. The brain can be tricked into witnessing something which is not even present there. How we perceive and see the proportions in the images can also be altered depending on the nearby objects. This is not magic but an optical illusion.

5/12

Is it helpful to study optical illusions?

Studying visual or optical illusions has led to an improved understanding of the mental mechanism of one as it has underlying visual information processing. Optical illusions are thus important tools that are good for neuroscience and also help in improving the mind’s function power and rate.

6/12

How do optical illusions work?

Optical illusions are important because they provide insights into how our brains perceive and interpret visual information, helping us understand the complex processes of cognition and perception. Studying optical illusions allows researchers to explore the mechanisms behind visual perception, such as how our brains interpret depth, motion, and color.

7/12

Your time is way too up!

As your 5 seconds are up, this was one of the easiest optical illusion challenges. Therefore, if you have found your answer then pat yourself but if not then keep on practicing these visual illusions every day to get positive growth. As you fix your gaze on the image, you will be able to locate the elephant which has a face and a tusk. We have also encircled the answer in the image for you.

Why are optical illusions interesting?

The first sight of an optical illusion is a complex process that includes our eyes to send raw information for our brain to interpret. This visual system thus tries to take short cuts which make edits to the images before we keenly look at them. These optical illusions take advantage of these shortcuts and then use them to fool our brains which makes the processing interesting.

9/12

Why are some optical illusions tough to solve?

At times we are not able to do magic with our eyes which has to do with how our eyes work with each other and coordinate with our brain. There are misalignments and deviations which are caused by one or both our eyes in which we need to make our one eye dominant and then proceed distracting everything from our ends. Therefore using our observational and cognitive process in mind you can then go ahead with the activity and solve the optical illusion.

10/12

Can optical illusions have any disadvantages?

Brain teasers do not make you damn smarter and thus do not belong in job interviews because they do not reflect the real world issues. There has been a handful of research to prove that brain games do improve general cognition or vice versa. But, they combine fun with critical thinking to sharpen the intelligence of all age groups.

11/12

Are brain teaser interview questions bizarre?

During interviews, the hiring manager will ask you what you would do and present you with a bizarre situation which would be mind boggling. A brain teaser is not always in the pictorial form, but the hiring manager will observe your ability to think fast with a creative end and thus look out for the process of problem solving. The hiring committee of Google was known for asking tough riddle questions.

12/12

Why do we see illusions in a different manner?

Optical illusions are not truly a trick of the eye but are also heavily involved in the brain’s interpretation of visual information. However, culture and physical factors also may influence how we go ahead and perceive optical illusions. The one thing which is keenly interesting is that some optical illusions are mainly related to characteristics of the perceiver, naming the functioning of our senses in our brain.
