Must be at room temperature

Most people store eggs in the fridge and use them directly for cooking. It is important to bring them to room temperature first and then use them. If you put cold eggs directly in hot water for boiling, there are high chances of them cracking up. This is because the gases heat and expand within the shell and expand pressure, thus causing them to crack.

Adding salt

Just a teaspoon of salt can efficiently prevent the eggs from cracking during the boiling process. Fill a pot with water, put on the heat and mix 1 tsp salt in it. When it comes to a boil, gently drop the eggs into the pot and boil them for 10 minutes to get the perfectly cooked yolk.

Don’t overcrowd

Don’t add too many eggs to the pot while boiling. The eggs should not touch each other or collide with each other while the water is on a roaring boil. If you are using a small pot, don’t boil more than 3-4 eggs at a time. If you are boiling more eggs, use a larger pot for the purpose or boil in batches to prevent overcrowding.

Vinegar trick

The vinegar trick is one of the easiest and most efficient ways to prevent eggs from cracking. Remember to use one teaspoon of vinegar for one egg. Fill a pot with water and add vinegar according to the number of eggs you are boiling. Now put the pot on heat and boil the eggs. Adding vinegar to the water helps the proteins in the egg white coagulate faster which further plugs any cracks in the egg.
