Maa Chandraghanta puja vidhi and bhog
Maa Chandraghanta is the third manifestation of the Goddess Durga and is worshipped on the third day of the nine-day Hindu festival Sharad Navratri. For these nine days, devotees observe fast, offer bhog, and chant mantra to please different manifestations of the Goddess Durga.
According to Shiva Maha Purana, Chandraghanta is the “Shakti”, of Lord Shiva in the form of Chandrashekhara. Each aspect of Shiva is accompanied by Shakti, therefore they are Ardhanarishvara. For the unversed, 'Chandra' in Sanskrit means moon and it is believed that Goddess Chandraghanta signifies the alternate side of the calm and passive Goddess Mahagauri. (Image: istock)

As per mythology experts, it is suggested to place the idol of Goddess on a chowki bathe her with ganga jal, kesar strands, and kewra. The goddess is then dressed in golden coloured clothes and it is also suggested to offer yellow flowers and lotus to her before offering the bhog of sweets made with milk.(Image: istock)

Maa Chandraghanta Bhog
As per experts, it is suggested to offer milk or kheer to the Goddess as part of bhog. It is believed that milk is one of her favourites. So, one can offer any sweet dish made with milk. Here’s a simple Sabudana Kheer recipe that you can offer as a bhog.
Ingredients
Sabudana, soaked overnight, 1 cup
Milk, 4 cups
Sugar, 1.5 cup
Mixed Dry Nuts, ¼ cup
Water, as required
Method
Bring milk to a boil and then add soaked sabudana. Keep stirring at a low flame to avoid sabudana pearls from sticking to the base of the pan. Cook for 15 minutes. Now, add sugar and ¼ cup water. Allow it to simmer for 10-15 minutes or till the pearls are evenly cooked. Garnish with nuts and offer the bhog to the deity.(Image: istock)
