Ginger is a root spice which is loaded with antioxidants, minerals and vitamins that are essential for a strong metabolism and immunity. Packed with the goodness of Gingerol which is an antioxidant that helps in improving immunity, builds resistance against infections and allergies and is great for digestion. Ginger is super healthy, but you must have heard that consuming it during summers may increase the body temperature. Here’s all you need to know about it!

Ginger is a fiery spice, which has a strong taste and flavour so much so that it is used as a potent medicinal spice, which is often used to make drinks that heal sore throat, cold cough and fever. It helps in building resistance to fight ailments, it is also believed that ginger can increase the body temperature. Interestingly, the good news is that you can eat ginger which will produce sweat and keep the body temperature in control during summers. However, one should not take more than 4 grams of ginger a day as excessive eating can cause some major health issues. Read on!

​Hidden side effects of ginger

Ginger is great for digestion, but an excessive intake of it can increase the acid formation in the body.

In cases of pregnancy it is advised to use less ginger in foods and it is best to avoid eating it raw around the due delivery date as it may increase the chances of bleeding or can also harm the baby.

In cases of surgery, it is advised to avoid the intake of ginger as it may lead to excessive or sudden bleeding. Ginger slows down clotting and may worsen bleeding disorders.

In some cases too much consumption of ginger may worsen heart conditions.
