Also called the "City of Lakes", Udaipur not just boasts magnificent architecture, sunset, and sunrise, but it also offers a wide range of flavours on its streets that are a must try. Take a look at these popular dishes that every foodie should try.

Pyaaz Kachori


It is one of the most famous street foods of Udaipur and refers to deep-fried pastry filled with spicy onion masala. It is often served with tangy tamarind or green chutney.

Mirchi Vada



This is also a deep-fried evening snack and is made with large green chillies stuffed with spicy potato mixture, dipped in gram-flour batter, and deep-fried. It is best enjoyed with kulhad wali chai.

Dal Baati Churma


This is the most iconic Rajasthani dish, which includes baati made with wheat dumplings, baked or roasted, and is served with dal or lentil curry, and churma, which refers to sweet crushed baati flavoured with ghee and sugar or jaggery.

This is a comforting combo that includes flattened rice cooked with peanuts and veggies and is served with sev or onions. And it is best paired with crispy jalebi making it a classic breakfast or snack combo in Udaipur.

It is a variation of Kachori that uses asafoetida or hing, along with other spices and stuffing of dal or potato which gives it a very distinct aroma and taste.

Like every Indian city, Udaipur also boasts its street chai served in kulhad and is flavoured with spices like cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon, along with a strong aroma of ginger in it.

This is a sweeter version of kachodi, where the dough is filled with sweetened mawa and dry fruits and is then deep fried and dunked in sugar syrup. It is topped with silver varq and served at room temperature.
