Foods to avoid with mangoes

Mango is a tropical fruit that’s quite popular during the summer months. One of the various reasons that people love to have it during summers is that it is refreshing and hydrating, and this is why it is called the king of fruits. It is a great combination of taste and health and is enjoyed by many across the country. Some enjoy this fruit on its own, while others love to have it with other ingredients and cook a different dish altogether. Some have the habit of immediately consuming chilled mangoes after eating their meal, but there are a few foods which one should avoid after consuming mangoes. The very reason is that such foods when consumed after mango can cause harm to health instead of benefits. Here’s a list of all those foods that must be avoided after mango’s consumption. The nutrition

Mangoes are a highly nutritious fruit that are rich in several key vitamins and minerals. They are an excellent source of vitamin C and vitamin A, which can support immune function and promote healthy skin and eyesight. Mangoes also provide dietary fiber, potassium, and antioxidants like beta-carotene, which can help regulate blood pressure, promote digestive health, and protect against chronic diseases. In addition to these key nutrients, mangoes contain smaller amounts of magnesium, folate, and vitamin K. Overall, adding mangoes to your diet can be a great way to boost your nutrient intake and enjoy a delicious and healthy fruit.

3/8

Why mangoes are soaked?

Mangoes are often soaked before consuming to enhance their flavor, texture, and nutritional value. Soaking can help soften the mango's fibers, making it easier to digest and preventing any irritation in the throat or digestive system. It also hydrates the fruit, making it juicier and enhancing its sweetness.

4/8

Curd

Many people like to eat mango and curd together, but this food combination can be harmful for health. Consuming both these foods together can cause stomach-related problems.

5/8

Bitter gourd

Karela or bitter gourd is one of the popular vegetables enjoyed in summer season. But, one must take care of the fact that it should not be eaten after consuming mango. If these two foods are combined together, it can lead to nausea and vomiting as per Ayurveda.

6/8

Spicy food

It’s a common practice in summer to enjoy this delicious fruit after lunch. But, when you consume mangoes along with spicy food, it can cause digestion issues and this is why one must not consume spicy foods with mangoes.

7/8

Cold drink

If you drink soda or cold drinks immediately after eating mangoes, both are high in sugar and can spike sugar levels.

8/8

Water

Some people have this habit of drinking water after eating fruits. In such a situation, if you drink water after eating mangoes, then it affects your digestive system and can even lead to diarrhoea. That's why it is better to drink water only after half an hour of eating food or fruits.

Utter rubbish and useless research. Absolutely senseless. No facts to support this nonsense. I use yogurt for most of my cooking. Mango lassi and Srikhand is my favourite. Nothing happens. This topic is considered invalid and a big fake. My mother is a microbiologist and pathologist. She never ever told us not to mix yogurt with food or juice. I have no clue from where these nutty researchers come up with such foolish topic. Herbal doctors are quacks and so are these so called nutritionist.
