Importance of a good breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It works as the fuel that keeps you active and charged throughout the day. But do you think you are having breakfast the right way? Dimple Jangda, a wellness and nutrition expert, recently shared a reel on Instagram, where she talked about the three common mistakes we often commit and why it is important to correct them immediately. Read to find out.

Cold raw foods

According to Dimple, cold raw foods diminish the agni of the digestive system or metabolic fire, that is just rising in the morning. In the morning, your agni is slightly weaker, and adding cold smoothie or cereal to the body destroys the fire and weakens the digestive system in the long run, leading to sluggish metabolism and low energy levels throughout the day. Instead, start your day with 200 ml of warm water to wake up your digestive system and then have either fruits with spices on top or you can have a warm porridge and fruits 2 hours after breakfast.

Eating breakfast like a king

Contradicting the popular belief, Dimple says it's a myth. As per Dimple, when you wake up, your digestive system is also just waking up, and you shouldn't overburden it with a big breakfast. She suggests having a small breakfast in the morning when the sun is rising, a big lunch when the sun is at its peak, and a small dinner when the sun is about to set. Even two meals a day is a good idea.

4/4

Mixing incompatible foods

As per Dimple, lots of people think that they can have fruits with some dairy products for some good gut bacteria, it's unhealthy. Remember, fruits have active fruit acids and enzymes and they start fermenting when mixed with dairy items like milk or yogurt. It will only lead to more bloating, gas, flatulence, indigestion, and discomfort. She suggests separating fruits and dairy and grains. Either have fruits first with some nuts and then have breakfast after an hour, or have a warm breakfast first and fruits 2 hours after breakfast.
