If quiet luxury is having its moment, then Wamiqa Gabbi clearly received the memo, and fashion lovers are grateful for it. The diva recently turned heads in a striking golden Banarasi lehenga, decorated with cowrie shells and stunning sequins, but she made sure to keep herself away from the usual traditional glitter, proving that ethnic Indian craftsmanship and unapologetic glam without heavy glitz and shine can coexist beautifully. Her ensemble blended heritage weaving with a bold edge of embellishments, celebrating maximalist fashion which refuses to blend into the background. She picked a wedding-worthy lehenga from New Delhi-based couture designer Liz Paul for a promotional event and went on to deliver a bridesmaid shaadi moment.

She wore a two-tiered metallic Banarasi tissue skirt embellished with paillettes, pairing it with a statement sleeveless choli that came with a plunging, bold neckline. But the embroidered decoration with threadwork and coloured stones stole the show, while the bust lining carried cowrie shells and extra-large metallic sequins. What tied the look was her blush pink organza dupatta decorated with beaded tassels along its edges. Wamiqa elevated the look with a multi-tiered diamond necklace and flower-shaped polki-enamel drop earrings, both sourced from Maya Sanghavi Jewels.
On the beauty front, she trusted makeup artist Coco Ballucci and tried a soft-glam approach with a glowing base, blushy cheeks, and mauve-pink lips. To seal the beauty show, she went with a sleek bun with centre-parted hair and absolutely stole the show.

She made the look traditional and dramatic, with rich and loud texture, striking embellishment, and a fearless aesthetic, making it a perfect bridesmaid ensemble to bookmark for the upcoming wedding season. The ensemble showcased why maximalism continues to thrive in Indian fashion, and for all the right reasons.
