Taapsee Pannu dressed in a handloom sari and looked just like a Raja Ravi Varma painting

She might be trending for taking her contemporary, Kangana Ranaut head on in a Twitter spat, but that's not all that makes Taapsee Pannu the diva that she is. Her powerful performances, her real life interviews and her chic style, all make her the beauty with brains, and today we take a look back at one of her most gorgeous photoshoots ever, where she promoted the national garment of India, the beautiful sari. And, believe us she looks just like a painting by legendary painter, Raja Ravi Varma.

The photoshoot

The photoshoot was canned when designer Gaurang Shah unveiled his newest collection of handloom saris. The heritage handcrafted saris represent the true demeanor of the Indian woman, and the photoshoot by Omkar Chitnis did full justice to the idea of a modern woman (Taapsee, here) showcasing Indian heritage to perfection.

Taapsee, the perfect muse

Taapsee proved to be the perfect muse to the designer, flaunting his finest creations, one sari at a time, with her lazy curls falling on her beautiful face, not bound by the gajra bun.

Old-world charm

From checkered saris to printed ones, the collection is an amalgamation of the old-world charm that we left behind, but want to relive.

Which one is your favourite?

We loved all the saris donned by Taapsee, tell us which one is your absolute favourite?
