Embracing all the signature colours

As India celebrated Karwa Chauth on October 10 this year, we saw Bollywood ladies decked out in stunning festive outfits, celebrating this auspicious occasion with utter beauty and grace. Drenched in classic and vibrant shades associated with the festival, like red and yellow, the celebs brought their signature glitz, amping the look with fine craftsmanship and iconic accessorising. Let’s take a closer look at how Bollywood celebs celebrated Karwa Chauth this year.

Raveena Tandon

90s superstar Raveena Tandon dazzled in a bright mustard yellow saree featuring heavy embroidery work on the border and pallu. She matched its grace with a similarly hued, full-length, sophisticated blouse, which instantly stole the show. In tune with the elegant look, Raveena made a middle-parted neat bun, wrapped it with a gajra, and accessorised the look with a blue choker, which added a contrasting effect.

Shilpa Shetty

She layered it with a diamond jewellery piece and wore her traditional red bangles, which brought the look together.

Mira Rajput Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor’s wife, Mira Rajput, opted for a minimalist look, which was equally iconic. She wore a deep red saree with subtle sequin embellishment along the border, which screamed 'iconic' from all angles. However, the blouse was what stole the show, as she wore a glamorous multicoloured pick with her plain saree and complemented it with a potli bag, classic necklace, and matching bangles.

Maheep Kapoor

Shanaya Kapoor’s mother, Maheep Kapoor, is all set to steal the limelight from her daughter. Maheep opted for a red silk straight-fit kurta adorned with golden embroidery around the neckline, which went down to the main bodice. Completing it with a pair of patiala and dupatta, she simply looked gorgeous.

Bhavana Panday

Ananya Panday’s mother, Bhavana, rocked the show in iconic pink. Proving that pink is a forever feminine colour, she wore a Bandhani-print pink kurta with a silver embroidered border and teamed it with a matching pants and dupatta set. Completing the look with a diamond choker with matching earrings, she left her locks down and stole the show.

Priyanka Chopra

India’s desi girl Priyanka Chopra shared pictures as she celebrated her Karwa Chauth with husband Nick Jonas in the midst of his intense touring and wore a simple black kurta with white prints all over the main bodice and teamed it with a contrasting traditional red dupatta. Accessorising her look with traditional red bangles, she might be far from her homeland, but she truly knows how to stay true to her roots.
