​Pakistani cricket captain Babar Azam buys INR 7 lakh Sabyasachi sherwani for his wedding

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan's cricket team and one of the leading batsmen in the world is in news amidst the dismal performance of the team in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 championship, underway in India. According to reports, the Pakistani skipper is all set to tie the knot around the year end.

As reported by CNBC Awaaz, Azam is gearing up for the wedding and also went on a shopping spree in India, to prepare for the same.

According to the report, he bought clothes for a whopping INR 7 lakh from none other than India's leading wedding couturier, Sabyasachi. The enigmatic designer, who is known for his exquisite creations is extremely popular in Pakistan.

It is being reported that he will be a Sabyasachi groom on his much-anticipated wedding.

Some Pakistani fans have taken offence to Babar's actions and thing it is unusual for a cricket captain to indulge in personal shopping while such a significant competition is going on.

The report suggests that Babar will have a lavish wedding in Pakistan, which is scheduled for the end of the year and that's the reason he couldn't stop himself from going on a shopping spree.

Apparently, it was just not clothes that Babar shopped for, but he's also shopped for some expensive branded jewellery from India.


Azam's family members are also quite busy making plans while the wedding preparations are underway. His wedding shopping during such a big international competition has sparked discussion about priorities.
