Save yourself from fake counterfeits

Fake or counterfeit products have taken over the beauty industry and have created a serious rampant situation. With a great demand for skincare and makeup products, several unscrupulous manufacturers are producing fake versions of popular brands with their names and logos and are selling them in the market. Reputed e-commerce websites are also on the radar where these counterfeit products are displayed at almost the same value or are sold in the name of discounted prices. However, there are ways to identify these fake products and stop the road that harms your skin. Let’s learn some tips and tricks to identify such counterfeit products.

2/6

Understand the price value

Renowned brands with unique logos and charms usually are costlier. Mainly international beauty brands including Rhode Beauty, Huda Beauty, and others have a higher value than native products. Therefore, if you’re paying an extremely low value of such brands then quickly understand that it is a fake product. It can be a good-to-be-true deal, but it might cause intense after-effects on your skin.

Take a look at the ingredients chart

An original product will lay down all the real ingredients which you will also be aware of. Every brand has its own set of USP about the usage of ingredients and are thus picked up by the consumers according to their requirements. However, counterfeit products will only include the meager and common ingredients known to be used in the product without any authentic listing or approval. Therefore, always read the ingredient list carefully and then move forward.

Take a 360-degree look at the packaging

Every high-end beauty line comes with a unique set of packaging and labeling details to attract the attention of its consumers. Fake products also try to reach the same level but their poor-quality packaging and labelling with the small details only offered by the real brand can give you all the answers. If the words are misspelled with blur and low printing, then you might have a counterfeit product in your hand.

Lookout for the certification and seals

Almost every beauty product whether for skin or hair comes with a certification or seals of approval from organisations such as the dermatologist association or FDA. One must check for the certifications and seals on the packaging before using the product. You can also look up at their website and can confirm the authenticity. But, if these seals are missing then it could be a sign that your product is fake.

Take a look at the reviews

Before purchasing any product from any website or e-commerce platform, always check the customer reviews of the product. Look out for reviews from verified buyers and thus pay attention to any comments related to packaging, quality, texture, price, authenticity, etc. But, if you see a ton of negative reviews in the section then you should be suspicious about the product and term it as a counterfeit.
