Video: Waiter dragged for 1 km over unpaid bill at Maharashtra restaurant
NEW DELHI: A restaurant waiter in Maharashtra's Beed district was dragged for nearly one kilometer after asking three youths to pay their bill. The disturbing incident took place on the Mehkar-Pandharpur Palkhi Highway on Saturday and was captured in a video that is now making rounds on social media. The footage shows the waiter desperately attempting to stop the car by opening its door, but the driver, undeterred, continued driving with the waiter clinging to the vehicle.
According to reports, three men had stopped at a roadside hotel for a meal. After finishing their food, the group returned to their car and requested the waiter to bring a UPI QR code scanner so they could make their payment. However, when the waiter approached their car with the scanner, the situation took a dark turn. The men reportedly started an argument with the waiter, eventually refusing to pay the bill. As they tried to flee in their vehicle, the waiter lunged toward the driver in a desperate attempt to stop them. The driver, however, refused to halt and dragged the waiter for about one kilometer before he was left behind.Authorities are investigating the case, and efforts are underway to identify the culprits.
