Creating shared libraries in Google Photos allows you to collaborate with a specific person on a photo collection, adding pictures, videos, and comments together. For those unaware, a shared library in Google Photos is a collaborative space where you can share photos and videos with a specific person. It's like a mini photo album that both of you can contribute to, edit, and comment on.
Here's how to set it up:
On your mobile device:- Open the Google Photos app.
- Tap the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner.
- Select "Share your library."
- Tap "Get Started."
- Choose the person you want to share with from your contacts list.
- Decide what photos to share:
- All photos: Share everything from your library from the beginning.
- Photos of specific people: Select specific face groups to share photos containing those individuals.
- Photos from a specific date: Choose a date range to share photos within that period.
- Tap "Done" to create the shared library.
On your computer:- Go to the Google Photos website (photos.google.com).
- Sign in to your Google account.
- Click on the gear icon in the top right corner and select "Settings."
- Scroll down to "Partner sharing" and click on "Get Started."
- Choose the person you want to share with from your contacts list.
- Follow the same steps as on mobile to decide what photos to share (All photos, Photos of specific people, Photos from a specific date).
- Click "Save" to create the shared library.
