Woman drowns in Ganga while posing for video: 5 times when making reels turned fatal

In today’s digital age where any information or a video can go viral online within moments, and likes, shares can bring instant fame, the pressure to create such content has grown dangerously intense. Platforms like Instagram and YouTube have introduced short-form videos, commonly known as "reels", as a form of social currency.

But in the race for views, some creators are taking extreme risks, pushing past the limits of safety in pursuit of that perfect moment
What started as creative expression has, in many cases, turned into something darker.

The search for thrilling, eye-catching content is now costing lives as people try to shoot content from rooftops and cliffs, near fast-flowing rivers, and inside moving vehicles without necessary caution. The boundary between adventure and recklessness has blurred, and the consequences have become heartbreakingly real.

Across India, several young people have recently lost their lives while filming reels with the illusion that viral success is worth any cost. These incidents have taken place due to reasons like a misstep, a mechanical error, or a moment of overconfidence. The tragic outcomes are an awakening reminder that no video is worth a life. Below are five such incidents that made headlines and left families shattered.

Despite immediate attempts to rescue her, she could not be saved. Authorities are still working to recover her body. Her identity remains unknown, but her story serves as a grim cautionary tale.
