Buchi Babu Sana’s sports action drama 'Peddi', starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, has entered its first weekday slowdown after a strong opening weekend. Released in theatres on June 4 following paid premieres on June 3, the film opened to mixed reviews.
According to Sacnilk, 'Peddi' collected Rs 7.55 crore net in India on its seventh day. The film recorded this collection across 7,535 shows nationwide. The Day 7 figure marks a 22.2% drop from its Day 6 collection of Rs 9.70 crore.
India collections near Rs 190 crore net
Despite the fall in collections, 'Peddi' continues to maintain a solid overall run at the box office. The film's total India net collection has climbed to Rs 187.25 crore. The film's India gross collection now stands at Rs 222.53 crore.
Overseas market adds to strong worldwide total
'Peddi' has also performed steadily in overseas territories. On Day 7, the film added Rs 80 lakhs from international markets. This pushed its overseas gross collection to Rs 48.80 crore. The film's worldwide gross collection has now reached Rs 271.33 crore.
Telugu version continues to lead occupancy
'Peddi' registered an overall Telugu occupancy of 21.58%. The film recorded 15.15% occupancy during morning shows, which improved to 24.46% in the afternoon. Evening shows registered 25.15%, while night shows closed at 21.54%.
The Hindi version had a lower overall occupancy of 9.25% and morning occupancy stood at 5.33% while afternoon and evening shows registered 9.42% each. Night shows performed comparatively better with 12.42% occupancy.
The Andhra Pradesh and Telangana markets once again emerged as the film's biggest contributors on Day 7. The region generated Rs 6.50 crore gross.
Karnataka followed with Rs 60 lakhs while Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 25 lakhs. Kerala added Rs 5 lakhs and the rest of India brought in Rs 1.49 crore. The film's total gross collection for the day stood at Rs 8.89 crore across all territories.
