From censor cuts to pre sales: All you need to know about Jr NTR's 'Devara'

The Telugu film 'Devara' is all set for its release in theatres on September 27 and the movie has been certified U/A by the censor board. With four minor modifications the film will make it to the final cut and here are all the details about the film!

Directed by Kortala Siva, the movie stars Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles and the rest of the movie cast includes Prakash Raj, Shruti Marathe, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, Narain. Jr NTR plays dual roles in the film as father and son - Devara and Vara respectively, Janhvi playing the female lead plays the role of Thangam and Saif Ali Khan plays the antagonist as Bhaira. Produced by Nandamuri Kalayn Ram, the film's music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

The movie is an action drama set against a coastal drop and follows the story of a fearless man Devara. The movie portrays the rivalry between Devara and Bhaira and how after Devara's demise, his son Vara who has taken over the legacy manages to protect his people. The makers have still kept the main plot under wraps and Janhvi Kapoor plays Vara's love interest as Thangam.

The film censor board certified the film U/A after making four modifications to it, including cutting down violence in three scenes. The movie will run for 3 hours 10 minutes. The film is made with a budget of Rs 300 crore

Composed by Anirudh Ravichander, the makers have already launched three singles from the film that include the 'Fear Song', 'Chuttamalle' and 'Daavudi'. The songs have been relased in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi.

The movie has a huge anticipation and it has created a record by grossing more than $1 Million in North America and it has sold more than 26,000 tickets in the USA. 'Devara' is the first Telugu film that has sold more than 15000 tickets in such a short span of time. The film's theatrical rights for the Hindi version has been sold for Rs 45 crore.
