5 Malayali music composers who shined in Telugu cinema!

Music has no linguistic barrier, which is why Telugu songs become huge hits with the Hindi audience and vice versa. As we always say, films have no language, but they have their own visual language called screenplay and other creative things.

This kind of cross-pollination is primarily seen in South Indian cinema. We also frequently see a film technician from one industry working in another industry that he doesn't even know the language of. Below is a list of Malayalam music directors who worked on and excelled in Telugu films.

Gopi Sundar is an Indian music composer who hails from the Malayalam movie industry and he made his Telugu film debut with ‘Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju’ (2015). He successfully established himself in Tollywood with ‘Bhale Bhale Magadivoy (2015)’, Oopiri, Majili and several others.

Sam CS is a new sensation in Telugu cinema, who has given successful music in all several South Indian films. He made his Telugu film debut with ‘Kanam’ in 2018 and since then he has done more than a half-a-dozen films in Telugu. His very recent ‘Rama Rao on Duty’ was a superhit on its soundtrack.

Achu Rajamani who hails from the Kerala film Industry has been doing films now and then in Tollywood too. He started his career in Telugu with Manchu Manoj’s ‘Nenu Meeku Telusua’ and then continued doing movies such as ‘Kurradu’, ‘Om 3D’, ‘DK Bose’, ‘Potugadu’, ‘Naa Rakumarudu’ and ‘Pandavulu Pandavulu Thummeda’ besides several other Telugu films. Still, he has ‘Aham Brahmasmi’ ready to release.

This Malayali music composer who hails from Mollywood has done music for Vijay Deverakonda’s 2018 film ‘Taxiwala’ (Debut film) and then for ‘Chaavu Kaburu Challaga (2021)’, and then did films like ‘Pakka Commercial (2022)’, ‘Oke Oka Jeevitham (2022) and has an untitled film #VS10 ready to release in Tollywood.

Jassie Git is an Indian music composer and playback singer who composed songs in all the south Indian languages and he is especially remembered for his Telugu song from ‘4 The People’ for the song “Lajjavathiye”. Though he composed for only one movie in Telugu titled ‘Saval’. He was popular for singing several Telugu songs such as ‘Gala Gala’ from Chatrapathi (2005), ‘Kondakaki’ from ‘Aparichitudu’, ‘Adire’ from ‘Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana’.
