Simbu aka Silambarasan, who started his career as a child artist has successfully established himself as a lead actor in the Tamil film industry. Apart from being an actor, Simbu is also a superb singer, a music director and a filmmaker. Simbu's father Vijaya T Rajendar, who is known for his strong acting skills, introduced Simbu as a child artist in one of his ventures. Simbu then made his debut as a lead actor in the 2002 Tamil film 'Kadhal Azhivathillai'. Controversy’s favourite child Simbu is celebrating his birthday today. On his special day, here are five secrets about the 'Maanadu' star that will surprise you:

Simbu’s favorite food

Foodies go to great extent for their love of delicacies and similarity SImbu is a huge fan of Biryani. The actor apparently has a weakness for Chicken Biryani and if often spotted relishing the delicacy during shoot. He has also spoken about his love for Biryani in several interviews.

Simbu’s favourite actor

While Simbu enjoys massive popularity, he is inspired by several Hollywood actors. Simbu is a massive fan of 'The Godfather' star Al Pacino and 'The Bucket List' actor Morgan Freeman. Simbu never misses a film of his favorite Hollywood actors. And in Tamil cinema, the actor loves Thala Ajith and follows his style of acting in his movies.

Simbu’s close friends

Friends make us feel stronger and Simbu has a close knit group from his childhood days who continue to be thick friends. Simbu shares a strong bond with Mahat, Deepan and Sathappan from his childhood days. These three are the close friends of the Tamil actor. Interestingly, Mahat is often snapped with Simbu as he travels around for different shoots.

Simbu’s favorite music director

Multi-talented star Simbu has also composed music for a few films and has earned appreciation as well. When it comes to picking his favorite music director amongst the young generation, the actor is a fan of 'Darbar' composer Anirudh Ravichander. They are good friends and have also composed a few songs together. Simbu and Anirudh were also involved in a controversy for a song in the past.

Simbu’s wish to remake Rajinikanth's 'Annamalai'

Simbu's all-time favorite actor in the industry is Superstar Rajinikanth, and he owns the title of 'Little Superstar' since he follows Rajinikanth’s style. Simbu always watches the first show of all Rajinikanth films and also enjoyed his recent release 'Darbar'. Simbu wishes to make a remake of Rajinikanth's blockbuster film 'Annamalai', and he has often spoken about the same in several of his interviews.
