Last Mission

In April 2014, Major Mukund led his final operation in the Shopian district of Jammu & Kashmir. During this mission, he confronted heavily armed militants in a fierce firefight, successfully neutralizing multiple threats. However, in the process, he was critically injured. Despite his severe wounds, he continued to lead his men until the mission's completion. His courage in the face of extreme danger led to his ultimate sacrifice, earning him the Shaurya Chakra posthumously.
