Check out the 5 new Tamil releases this week

With theatres in the state reopening a month ago, many of the pending Tamil films are vying with each other to get released. This Friday will see the release of five films in Kollywood. Check out the films hitting the big screen this weekend...

This film, starring Rio Raj, Ramya Nambeesan and Bala Saravanan, is a comic caper. Rio Raj plays a software employee who hails from north Madras while Ramya essays a girl from a small town who also works in IT sector. What happens a few days before the day she is supposed to go abroad for an off-shore project forms the crux of the film, directed by Badri Venkatesh.

This multi-genre film, with elements of fantasy, horror, musical, thriller and drama, takes place in Chennai and in a dense forest. Raai Laxmi will be playing a rock star, a guitarist, and will have three looks in the film, directed by Vinod Venkatesh, a debutant director who was an associate to SJ Suryah on Isai.

Written and directed by Eswar Kotravai, this film has new faces Karthikeyan Velu, Sanjana Burli, Kishore Dev, Muhil and Govinth Maayon, and is about the funny and weird incidents that happen in a small village near Salem.

This film is yet another horror comedy from Kollywood and has leading comedians like Yogi Babu and Mottai Rajendra in major roles, and is directed by Sakthi Chidambaram. The film revolves around a pickpocket played by Yogi Babu, and how he helps a ghost family take revenge on corporates who killed them with a virus.

Directed by Sabarinathan Muthupandian, this film, starring Senthilnathan, Sandra Nair and Archana Singh, is all about restoring the glory of Indian medicine and education while exposing the shortfalls in western medicine and education.
