Peddi Movie Review and Release Live Updates: Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor starrer set for a grand box office opening

Many fans have been asking why the censorship board said nothing while Janhvi was being objectified and sexualised in 'Peddi'. They feel that if the board can take action against gore and violence in films like Obsession, it should also speak up when women are shown poorly on screen. People also noticed that Ram Charan's character was not just attracted to her but was openly lusting after her. Since Janhvi's character has no real purpose in the film, both the actor and director Buchi Babu Sana have been called out for this.

A person expressed, "the heroine deserved a character. Instead she got a string of vulgar, degrading, objectifying scenes stitched together and called a role. It ain't bold.. it ain't glamorous.. it's just poor & cringe writing.. a complete embarrassment to every women in the audience." Echoing the same sentiment, a user wrote, "It's high time they stop sexualising heroines in film. Literally there's a scene where hero describes her face but they show her waist and chest. Wtf was that." Another user also took a dig at the censor board, writing, "Jhanvi scenes in the first half are outright vulgar and crass.. but obsession mathram censor chesestham.. luchas @CBFC_India."

Jagapathi Babu took to his X to share a fun BTS video of himself walking in public in full costume as Appalasoori, the character he plays in Ram Charan's 'Peddi', without anyone recognising him. Sharing the clip, he wrote, "Appalasoori road na padina kooda yevaru gurthupattaledhu. #Peddi (Nobody was able to recognise even when Appalasoori took a stroll on the road)."

Janhvi Kapoor recently visited the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Andhra Pradesh ahead of the release of Peddi, seeking divine blessings. As part of her spiritual visit, she reportedly climbed the Alipiri footpath steps on foot, continuing her tradition of devotional temple visits during important phases of her life and career.

Chiranjeevi extended heartfelt congratulations to the team of ‘Peddi’ and wrote on X, “Congratulations to our peddi, my dear Ram Charan and the entire cast and crew on this incredible blockbuster! Even while I am in Pollachi for shooting, my heart is with “Peddi.” Over the past two years, I have closely witnessed the hard work, dedication, and commitment Charan has put into this film. Seeing the love and appreciation from audiences today, I feel extremely proud—not just as a father, but also as an actor. His complete immersion into the character of “Peddi,” along with his relentless effort, discipline, and sincerity, is clearly visible in every scene. This success is the true reward for that hard work.”

‘Peddi’ is off to an impressive start at the box office, according to Sacnilk. With 6,415 shows running across the country, the film raked in an estimated India net of Rs 18.45 crore by 2 pm on its opening day, with the India gross touching approximately Rs 21.77 crore.

Rahman believes the film talks about pushing limits and challenging boundaries. He connected the concept with personal belief.

He said, "The rise of human spirit. The potential is defined by your brain. If you think you can lift 10 kg, that’s all you’ll be able to do. If you think, I can lift 100 kg…." Rahman also explained how he connected sports and music together. He felt both fields require belief and determination.

He said, "Human achievement in sports or music, we define it. If you set limitations…you see a character like Peddi. Like a polymath of sports, he plays cricket, kushti and more. It’s possible for a human mind to achieve when there’s no walls in your mind."

He said, "The way Ram Charan transformed into this character. To make a fictional character look so real in soul and spirit…that was stunning for me."

Ram Charan recently spoke about his experience of playing the role. He described it as one of the most demanding characters of his career.

He said, "I am very fortunate to be playing the character. We are representing a section of people that are unheard, who need the voice and need the recognition. And to play a character like that, which is very necessary in a country like India. I feel very proud and fortunate to come across a role like this".

Game Changer had reportedly collected Rs 26.8 crore through advance booking. The film had also sold approximately 9.3 lakh tickets before release.

Advance booking numbers indicate positive movement for the film. Early sales have delivered encouraging signs before release.

The film has attracted attention through its promotional campaign. Fans have closely followed every development surrounding the project.

Warangal has emerged as one of the strongest-performing markets. The region is tracking nearly 84 percent occupancy.

Visakhapatnam has reached 58 percent occupancy. Vijayawada stands at approximately 53 percent.

Andhra Pradesh is currently tracking around 33 percent real occupancy. Telangana remains near 29 percent.

The strongest response has come from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. These regions continue to remain the film's biggest markets. Andhra Pradesh has generated nearly Rs 8.74 crore gross with block seats included. The state has emerged as the leading contributor.

Visakhapatnam follows with around Rs 1.37 crore. Vijayawada, Guntur, Kakinada and Warangal have also recorded strong advances.
