Manikandan's directorial 'Kadaisi Vivasayi' is about the life of an aged farmer. The film had Nallandi as the lead with Vijay Sethupathi and Yogi Babu in supporting roles. RJ Balaji starrer 'Veetla Vishesham' is the Tamil remake of the Hindi film 'Badhaai Ho' and the film had its theatrical release in June 2022. The comedy-drama is about an aged couple welcoming their third baby and the film is packed with quirks. Further, the movie received more response from the audience after its digital release, and the RJ Balaji starrer turned into a third successful film for the actor.

Kavin starrer 'Dada' is about a father and son relationship, and the film opened well at the box office. Kavin started winning praise from fans as several ones, who missed watching the film on big screens, watched the film on OTT, while director Ganesh K Babu and female lead Aparna Das also got an appreciation for their excellent work.
