With humour firmly at the centre, this two-act play is an adaptation of a humorous short story originally written by celebrated Marathi author D. M. Mirasdar. From the outset, the production embraces its comic sensibilities, drawing the audience into a world of exaggerated situations, misunderstandings, and well-timed comedy. It amplifies the humour and remains committed to that choice throughout.Much of the humour emerges naturally from interactions between the characters and the absurdity of situations they find themselves in. At other points, the jokes feel more consciously written into the script. But these moments, too, land effectively because of the confidence and timing with which they are performed. The cast is uniformly strong. Prashant Damle brings his trademark ease to the role, reminding audiences why he remains one of Marathi theatre's most celebrated thespians. Hrishikesh Shelar, however, proves to be the standout. His comic timing, stage presence, and ability to command attention make him the most memorable performer.
