Technical difficulties are not unheard of during film shoots, but whats important is how the filmmaker deals with them. One such incident happened during the shooting of the upcoming film Bernie. The film, based on Subhash Bhendes controversial story Jogin, has been almost entirely shot in Goa and on a particular day, one of the films cameras malfunctioned bringing the shoot to a halt.

It was producer Shivam Lonari and cinematographer Sameer Athalyes presence of mind and intervention from Neelkanti Patekar that saved the day.

It so happened that Nana Patekar was shooting for another film in Goa during the same time. Shivam remembered this and immediately called me up to ask if we can request the crew to spare a camera for a while, recollects Neelkanti. The actress had interacted with the director when she had gone to visit Nana and she narrated the situation to him.

Fortunately, their shoot was to start in the evening while ours was in the morning. So the crew agreed to lend us a camera on the condition that we would return it to them before their shoot starts, she adds. So, did Nana help her in saving the day? He was shooting the previous night and was resting. I didnt want to disturb him so I dealt with it my way. Later, I told him about the entire incident, says Neelkanti.
