Several young actors from the Malayalam film industry have amazed cinema lovers with their stellar performances and exceptional acting skills. Here’s a list of five young Mollywood actors who have gained immense popularity over the years...

Nivin Pauly

The charming actor made his debut with the film, Malarvady Arts Club, that was directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan and produced by Dileep. Though he acted in a few other films, it was the success of the 2012 flick, Thattathin Marayathu, that helped him carve his niche in the Malayalam film industry. He went on to deliver superhits such as Omshanti Oshana, 1983, Vikramadithya and Bangalore Days. The huge success of his latest romantic entertainer, Premam, has made him one of the most bankable stars in Mollywood. His appealing boy-next-door looks and remarkable performance in almost every film has earned him an enormous fan following. Nivin was recently awarded the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for the films Bangalore Days and 1983.

Dulquer Salman

Son of megastar Mammootty, Dulquer Salman began his career in Mollywood with the film, Second Show, in which he portrayed the character of a gangster. His second project Ustad Hotel turned out to be a major commercial success, making the handsome hunk, one of most sought after actors in Malayalam cinema. This versatile actor went on to awe his fans with his realistic acting skills in ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi, Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi, Bangalore Days and 100 Days of Love. Known to get better with every role, the handsome hunk has cemented himself as a popular youth icon in the Malayalam film industry. He was also widely appreciated for his performance in Mani Ratnam’s bilingual film, OK Kanmani.

Fahad Fasil

Having failed miserably in his 2002 debut film, Kaiyethum Doorath, Fahad Fasil made his comeback to the Malayalam film industry with the 2009 film, Kerala Cafe. Since then, the actor has never looked back. He went on to receive the Kerala State Best Actor Award for his performance in Artist and North 24 Kaatham. Son of popular Malayalam film director, Fazil, the actor has delivered several superhits such as Bangalore Days, Money Ratnam and Iyobinte Pustakam. A powerhouse of talent, Fahad Fasil can pull off just about any role with utmost panache.

<strong>Prithiviraj</strong><br /> <br /> The macho man of Mollywood, Privithiraj, is the son of actors, Sukumaran and Mallika Sukumaran. He made his debut at the age of 19 in the 2002 film, <em>Nandanam</em>. The talented actor had gained popularity with his impressive performance in <em>Urumi</em>, <em>Indian Rupee</em>, <em>Celluloid</em>, <em>Mumbai Police </em>and <em>Memories</em>. He also ventured into Tamil, Telugu and Hindi cinema. His roles in Mani Rathnam&#39;s Tamil film, <em>Ravanan</em>, and Athul Sabharwal&rsquo;s Hindi film, <em>Aurangzeb</em>, received much appreciation. Apart from this, Privithiraj has also impressed with his vocal skills in songs such as &lsquo;<em>Kaane</em><em> kaane</em>,&rsquo; &lsquo;<em>Kettille</em><em> </em><em>kettille</em>&rsquo; and &lsquo;<em>Ivide</em>.&rsquo; This multi-talented actor bagged the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor twice.

Asif Ali

With an attractive personality, oodles of boyish charm and superb comic timing, Asif Ali is one of the much admired actors of the Malayalam film industry. He began his career with Shyamaprasad’s musical film, Ritu, and went on to deliver hits such as Kadha Thudarunnu, Traffic, Salt N’Pepper, Honey Bee, Bicycle Thieves and many more. His roles in the 2014 heist thriller comedy film, Sapthamashree Thaskaraha, and 2015 family drama, Nirnnayakam, had received positive reviews from critics. Following the success of his film career, the handsome actor has started his own production house, which is known as Adam’s World of Entertainment.
