'Drishyam 3' box office collection day 12: Mohanlal film sees sharp drop; India Net nears Rs 100 Cr
Mohanlal starrer 'Drishyam 3' witnessed a major fall in collections on its twelfth day in theatres. The film had maintained a strong run during its first week. However, the latest figures show that the pace has slowed considerably.
According to Sacnilk estimates, the film earned Rs 2.20 crore India net on Day 12. This marks a sharp decline of 58.9 percent from the previous day's Rs 5.35 crore collection.
'Drishyam 3's India total continues to climb
'Drishyam 3' has now collected Rs 98.90 crore in India net collections. Its India gross currently stands at Rs 114.76 crore.
Day 12 earnings came from 2,276 shows across the country. The Malayalam version collected Rs 2 crore on Day 12. Telugu added Rs 12 lakhs. Tamil brought in Rs 5 lakhs while Kannada contributed Rs 3 lakhs.
The film had shown strong consistency during the middle phase of its opening week. It collected Rs 6.50 crore on its first Tuesday. Collections increased slightly to Rs 6.65 crore on Wednesday. Thursday also recorded the same figure. The first week ended with an impressive Rs 81.95 crore total.
'Drishyam 3' collected Rs 75 lakhs overseas on Day 12. The latest figures have pushed its overseas gross to Rs 110 crore. Rhe film's worldwide gross collection has now reached Rs 224.76 crore. The Telugu version recorded overall occupancy of 10.88 percent on Day 12.
ETimes review for the film read,"the film struggles with pacing. The narrative takes too long to establish its emotional conflict, and the suspense does not organically build for a significant portion of the runtime. The challenge is understandable. The audience already knows the crime, the family, and the emotional stakes. But in trying to create another layer over an already complete story, the screenplay occasionally feels stretched.
The original film had closure within its moral ambiguity, while the second part expanded the psychological consequences effectively. This third chapter often feels like a continuation driven more by the weight of a successful franchise than by an urgent storytelling need."
