After a one-year hiatus, actor
Sonal Monteiro is back with Garadi which will release on Friday. The movie, directed by Yogaraj Bhat, sees her sharing screen space with Yashas Surya for the first time. She talks to us about essaying a different role for this film and more. Excerpts:
‘IT WAS A VERY UNUSUAL ROLE FOR ME’ I essay the role of a village girl Kabbali who is hooked on social media. I am not good at doing reels, so it was a bit of a challenge. I have a lot of serious dialogues in the second half of the film.
‘I LEARNT INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT WRESTLING’ One of the interesting facts I got to know about wrestlers was about their ears which are called cauliflower ears. Because of their fights, they lose the water content in their ears and it becomes so hard that they don’t have any sensation.
‘SANDALWOOD IS FULL OF NEWCOMERS WHO ARE MAKING A MARK’ I am never afraid of working with freshers, new teams or new production houses. Sandalwood is full of newcomers who are making a mark and movies that are doing exceedingly well. I don’t want miss out on working with a creative team and later regret my decision.
