Writ quashed, Nimbe Huli set for release

Actor-director Hemanth Hegde's upcoming Kannada film Nimbe Huli, which has been produced by Bollywood filmmaker Subhash Ghai's Mukta Arts, may finally be inching closer to a theatrical release. The film, which was in the making for a while and was subsequently delayed was to be released in December 2013, when a writ filed in the Madras High Court stayed it.
According to the writ, party members of Tamil Nadu's political party DMK filed the stay petition citing similarities between the a character in the film and the party's leader Karunanidhi.
On Wednesday, Hemanth took to his social networking page to update the good news that the petition had been quashed. "wow!finally th ordeal is over!!th madras high court has quashed th writ petition and has given a go ahead for nimbehuli release.hope it teaches a lesson to al th petty minded stuck up people who want to curtail freedom of expression.feeling ecstatic!!!" he wrote.
