The makers of the upcoming film, ‘Under 18’ directed by Karthik Perumalsami have officially welcomed Kannada superstar Kichcha Sudeep to the film. The team made the announcement on social media on Thursday.
Sharing the update on Instagram, the production house wrote, “The Baadshah has arrived! Welcoming the powerhouse performer Kiccha Sudeepa on board for #Under18. A massive addition to the journey begins now!”

Speaking about the film, ‘Under 18’ is said to be an emotional crime drama that will focus on the harsh side of crime and the pain faced by families affected by it. As per an IANS report, the story is inspired by true incidents and explores crime backdrops from different parts of Tamil Nadu. The makers believe the movie will leave a deep emotional impact on audiences.

Director Karthik Perumalsami earlier worked as an associate director with acclaimed filmmaker Vetrimaaran before becoming a director himself. Recently, Vetrimaaran unveiled the title look of the film, which received a positive response from film lovers.
Pooja ceremony of ‘Under 18’
The film is set to officially begin with a pooja ceremony on Friday. Major portions of the shoot will take place in Hosur, Chengalpet, and Chennai. The makers have planned to shoot in real locations to maintain authenticity and natural feel in the film.
On the technical side, well-known cinematographer Velraj is handling the visuals. Music for the film is being composed by Sam C S. Lyrics for the songs will be written by Ilango Krishnan and Karthick Netha.
Kichcha Sudeep’s upcoming projects
Speaking of Kichcha Sudeep’s work, the film was last seen in the 2025 action thriller, ‘Mark’ which collected over Rs 32 crore worldwide. Talking about his furture plans, he will be seen in 'Billa Ranga Baasha'. He is also reuniting with director Vijay Karthikeyaa. He will also work on the sequel, 'Kabzaa 2'.
