Aspiring music director Athishay (Vinay Rajkumar) is on a quest to find a voice that will fill his heart and soul. His quest ends when he meets Anuraaga (Swathishta Krishnan). Anu, on the other hand, is waiting for a kind-hearted man. As they get together, they have to navigate their journey, keeping in mind the twists and turns that come their way.
Suni’s trademark humour films have never disappointed audience and OSPK makes it to the top of that list. From Simpleaag Ond Love Story to OSPK, one can see the way his writing has matured over the years, especially in terms of weaving an endearing tale. He has infused humour and poignancy into a warm love story that is sure to strike a chord with the audience. His one-liners land well. With themes such as sacrifice, self-discovery and the importance of following one’s passion, OSPK is a gentle reminder to the audience that love can be found in unexpected places.
The first half of the film deals with music and the quest for love while the second half is filled with interesting twists and turns. Along with love and longing, well-written twists add a fun spin to the movie.
The movie is a comeback of sorts for both Suni and Vinay. Vinay delivers a very nuanced performance, adding depth to the movie. Swathishta Krishnan and Mallika Singh won over with their natural performances. Rajesh Natarang is at his usual best. Veer Samarth’s music is the soul of this musical love story. ‘Mookanagabeku’ will surely haunt you even after coming out of theatres. Shot in picturesque locations across Karnataka, cinematography has added colours to this musical drama.
OSPK is a rare love story that is simple yet complicated. The movie is sure to haunt filmgoers even after coming out of theatres.
