'DDLJ' to 'Kedarnath': TOP 10 films that you can enjoy once again in cinema halls

Movie buffs can't keep calm as they will be able to enjoy new movies on the big screen like old times! The Ministry of Home Affairs has finally given the go-ahead for theatres in India to re-open. Due to coronavirus pandemic and lockdown, the cinema halls were forced to close their doors. Theatres are now functioning at 50 per cent capacity. So, we bring you all the movies to look forward to that are re-releasing.

'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'

Recently, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' clocked 25 years. Recently, there's a buzz that the film is set to re-release worldwide in about 18 countries to mark 25 years. Yes, you heard that right. It will be re-released across Germany, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, USA, UK, Canada, Mauritius, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Norway, Sweden, Spain, Switzerland, Estonia and Finland.

'Kedarnath'

Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan starrer 'Kedarnath' is all set to hit the big screen once again. The film received mixed reviews, but the audience was all praise for Sushant's performance. This was Sara's debut film. It is based on the Uttrakhand floods. The film had hit the theatres in December 2018.

'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior'

Helmed by Om Raut, the film is based on the life of Maratha warrior Tanaji Malusare. It starred Ajay Devgn in the titular role along with Saif Ali Khan and Kajol in the lead roles. The film was also released in Marathi-language following popular demand. It hit the big screen in January 2020 with Deepika Padukone's 'Chhapaak'.

'Thappad'

Taapsee Pannu's 2020 film 'Thappad' is a story of Amrita whose seemingly perfect life is smashed when her husband slaps her in a party. 'Thappad' director Anubhav Sinha and actress Taapsee shared the excitement of their movie re-releasing in theatres on social media. It was released in theatres on 28 February 2020

'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan'

Helmed by Hitesh Kewalya, this film is a spin-off to the 2017 film 'Shubh Mangal Saavdhan'. 'Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan' stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao in pivotal roles. The film tells the story of two gay men who are in love and how the face difficulty convincing their families to accept them.

'War'

Directed by Siddharth Anand, 'War' featured Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor. It is about the story of an Indian soldier assigned to eliminate his former mentor who has gone rogue. The film was shot in 7 different countries and 15 world cities. Hrithik and Tiger teamed up for the first time on the big screen.

'Malang'

This romantic-thriller stars Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Disha Patani and Kunal Kemmu, with a guest appearance by Shaad Randhawa. Fans were all praise for Disha and Aditya's sizzling chemistry. The film hit the big screen in February 2020. It marked Mohit's second collaboration with Aditya after 'Aashiqui 2' and Kunal after 'Kalyug'.

'Khaali Peeli'

Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Pandey's 'Khaali Peeli' recently released online on October 2. The makers have decided to release the film in theatres. Helmed by Maqbool Khan, the story is around Blackie (Khatter), a Mumbai taxi-driver, and Pooja (Panday), a girl on the run. Jaideep Ahlawat is seen as a goon in the movie. The film also stars Swanand Kirkire, Satish Kaushik and Anup Soni. It is all set to release in the big screen as the theatres have re-opened the first time after lockdown.

'PM Narendra Modi'

Omung Kumar's 'PM Narendra Modi' is a biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. From his childhood till the time he became the Prime Minister of the country, the film is based on PM Modi's life. While Vivek Oberoi plays the titular role, the film also features Boman Irani, Darshan Kumaar, Manoj Joshi, Prashant Narayanan, Zarina Wahab, Barkha Bisht Sengupta among others. The film first released on May 24, 2019.

'Chhichhore'

If the reports are to be believed, fans of Sushant Singh Rajput can catch 'Chhichhore' on the big screen from 15th October. While there aren't any big new releases, a number of movies are being re-released. The film also starred Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Naveen Polishetty, Tushar Pandey and Saharsh Kumar Shukla in the lead roles.
