Raj Vasudeva shares a personal connection

Actor Raj Vasudeva spoke about his journey with the film. Talking to Mid Day, he described Mercy as a deeply personal project, "Bringing Mercy to the big screen feels like the culmination of a deeply personal journey. This film is incredibly close to my heart because it explores the quiet, often ignored strength of a family in crisis. While I am profoundly moved by the immense appreciation we’ve received, the real reward is seeing how Shekhar’s story has touched hearts everywhere. I am filled with excitement to finally share this labor of love with the audience."

Adil Hussain on exploring human emotions

Actor Adil Hussain plays Father Joel in the film. His character serves as a guiding force during difficult times.
Earlier in 2025, he spoke to IANS about his role and the themes of the film, "Love, grief, acceptance—at this stage of my life, I've encountered all of these emotions in different ways. I cannot claim to have experienced them in the same measure as others, because each individual processes them uniquely. In my case, I've been fortunate to navigate these emotions with the guidance of my spiritual mentor, and for that, I feel deeply grateful. Grief, in particular, is something I find profoundly challenging, as I believe most people do. What moves me about Mercy is how beautifully it weaves together these deeply human experiences, capturing their complexity with honesty and grace."

Global recognition and strong cast

'Mercy' has already enjoyed a successful festival run, as it has been screened at several international platforms, including the Chicago South Asian Film Festival, the UK Asian Film Festival in London, and the Indian International Film Festival of Stuttgart.Directed by Mitul Patel, 'Mercy' is promised to be a heartfelt drama, and it also includes actors Niharica Raizada, Aparna Ghoshal, and Kunal Bhan in important roles.
