‘Tumhari Sulu’ cleared with a ‘U’ certificate by CBFC

Vidya Balan’s upcoming film ‘Tumhari Sulu’ sees her playing an eccentric radio-jockey in the slice-of-life tale. The promos of the film and the songs have caught the imagination of the audiences with their quirk factor. The film that also features Manav Kaul as Vidya’s husband was recently cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification.

The film has been cleared with a "U" certificate by the CBFC, which underlines film's appeal for universal audience of all age groups. Directed by adman Suresh Triveni, ‘Tumhari Sulu’ is scheduled to release on November 17, 2017.

Vidya Balan: People's view has changed about the film industry now

As Vidya Balan heads to visit the Rann festival at the popular Rann of Kutch today, the actress, who is in Gujarat, paused to interact with the media.

Talking about her recently released song 'Hawa Hawai 2.0', the versatile star shared her apprehension before kick-starting the song. "I thought it's Sridevi's song and I got scared but then I realised that we will do it in an office setup and are not actually recreating the song. I have danced on this song all my life and I enjoyed shooting it a lot," she said.

While talking about how stepping into showbiz is not considered a viable career option by many out there, Vidya, who is also a newly appointed member of CBFC, said, "There are good and bad people everywhere. People's view has changed about the industry now. I am in this industry since 12 years and I have met only good people but there are people who haven't met the good ones so it's a matter of luck too.

Vidya was also spotted leaving for the meet and greet with BSF Jawans today morning. During the visit, she will also promote her upcoming film 'Tumhari Sulu'. Vidya will be spending time with BSF Jawans and will watch the cultural activities of the festival.

‘Tumhari Sulu’ lead pair Manav Kaul-Vidya Balan take an impromptu scooter ride

Manav Kaul and Vidya Balan may be zipping across the city in a compact car in their upcoming film ‘Tumhari Sulu’, but the twosome decided to go on an unplanned scooter ride through the by-lanes of a Mumbai suburb. After completing a round of media interviews, Manav borrowed a journalist’s scooter and took Vidya pillion on a short but fun ride.

Vidya agreed and thoroughly enjoyed the experience as they zipped past the gathered onlookers. After a flurry of stares from excited onlookers and mobile picture-takers, the two returned to pavilion and called it a day.

When Vidya Balan’s niece shot ‘Hawa Hawai 2.0’ song of ‘Tumhari Sulu’

Vidya Balan, who is currently shooting for her upcoming film ‘Tumhari Sulu’, was in for a surprise when her adorable niece Ira visited her on the sets.

The actress was shooting for the song ‘Hawa Hawai 2.0’ and her niece believed that she shot the song sequence as apparently the cinematographer of the film allowed her to look through the lens.

The picture has Vidya and Ira standing behind the camera. Ira’s expression of amusement was really something worth capturing. Captioning the image, Vidya wrote, “When my princess ,my angel ,one of my two life lines Ira ....visited the sets of #TumhariSulu for the Hawa Hawau song shoot and believed she shot it because out cinematographer @saurabh_goswami13 allowed her to look through the lens ❤️❤️!!

Sridevi to launch the new version of her ‘Hawa Hawai’ song in Vidya Balan starrer ‘Tumhari Sulu’

Sridevi is fondly known as the ‘Hawa Hawai girl’ after the super success of the song by the same name in her film ‘Mr. India’. Now, the same song is being recreated for upcoming Vidya Balan starrer ‘Tumhari Sulu’.
Vidya Balan has been an ardent fan of Sridevi and she has time and again spoken about her admiration towards the ace actress. Sridevi has apparently not only given her consent for the same but will also be gracing the song launch event with Vidya.
According to reports, the makers of ‘Tumhari Sulu’ met with Sridevi and informed about her about the song before they slipped it in to the film. Sridevi was reportedly happy about it as she also adores Vidya as an actress. Reportedly, the team will also be showing her the song once it is completely edited and ready.
The reports further stated that the veteran actress will also grace the song launch with Vidya at a grand event next week after the trailer is unveiled.

'Tumhari Sulu' gets a 'U' certificate from Central Board Of Film Certification

The much-in-news flick starring Vidya Balan recently received a U certificate from the Central Board Of Film Certification. Vidya, who essays the role of a carefree housewife, turns into a late night radio jockey in the Suresh Triveni-directed film. However, the release date of the film has been preponed a week earlier to November 17. The film was previously scheduled to arrive in the theaters on November 24, 2017. This is not the first time the release date of the movie has been preponed.

'Tumhari Sulu' had marked December 1, 2017, as the initial release date but the makers shifted the date to avoid a clash with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus, 'Padmavati'. With the film getting a clean 'U', fans of the actress are waiting eagerly for the film to hit the theatres.

‘Tumhari Sulu’ sees a new cocktail of actors onscreen. With Vidya Balan in the lead, the film has Neha Dhupia and Manav Kaul playing pivotal roles. Manav has been roped in to play Vidya's on-screen husband and Neha will essay the role of Vidya's sassy boss at the radio station where she works as an RJ. The film also sees a new entrant not many know of. And that is RJ Mallishka. In fact, it was Mallishka who trained Vidya for her role in ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’. Vidya, who plays Sulu in the film, is a restless go-getter who wants to do more. With a great sense of humour and wit, Sulu is very easy going. ‘Tumhari Sulu’ shows the fun side of being a homemaker.
