Ram Charan continues to remain in headlines due to discussions surrounding 'Peddi'. While conversations around the film are still ongoing, one of the actor's earlier interviews has once again started attracting attention online.Over the years, Ram Charan has built a strong presence across Indian cinema and gained recognition among audiences worldwide. A previous interaction from 2024 is now resurfacing, where he shared his thoughts on international projects and explained why Indian stories continue to hold greater importance for him. The actor had spoken about the topic while attending the Film Tourism for Economic and Cultural Preservation event held in Jammu and Kashmir.

Ram Charan spoke about Indian culture

During the interaction, Ram Charan was asked whether audiences could expect him to explore opportunities in Hollywood in the future.Replying to the question, the actor explained that his immediate focus remained on stories rooted in India and its culture. As quoted by Pinkvilla, he said, “I want to explore India more and I don't think I would want to travel anywhere else for my films unless the producer or director is from Hollywood.
I want to stick to my culture. I want to educate that our Indian sentiments are so strong. Our culture is so strong. There's a lot of dignity in our stories. Nowadays, when you see it, it's not a South Indian or North Indian movie; it's about Indian mitti ka (soil's) stories. These stories are finally coming out."

Hollywood was never completely ruled out

Although Ram Charan emphasised his attachment to Indian storytelling, he had also spoken positively about international opportunities in earlier conversations. During a previous interaction with Sam Fragaso, the actor had shared that discussions surrounding a Hollywood project were taking place. He also addressed the topic in another interview with David Poland and admitted that working internationally remains an exciting possibility. He said, “Who doesn’t want to be a Hollywood actor?” The actor's comments suggested that while Indian cinema remains his priority, global opportunities are also something he remains open to exploring.

Actors Ram Charan wants to work with

During the same conversation, Ram Charan had also spoken about some of the international stars he admires. He revealed that he would like to work with actors such as Julia Roberts, Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in future projects.

'Peddi' discussions continue online

Meanwhile, Ram Charan continues to remain in focus because of Peddi and the discussions linked to the film. A section of viewers raised concerns regarding Janhvi Kapoor's character and questioned certain scenes and visual choices in the movie. The criticism later prompted director Buchi Babu Sana to respond publicly.The filmmaker acknowledged audience reactions and clarified that there was never any intention to disrespect or objectify women in the film. He also confirmed that portions which received criticism would be modified and reworked. 'Peddi' has crossed Rs 100 crores at the box office in just 3 days.
