Raj Kundra pornography case: Gehana Vasisth’s statements supporting Shilpa Shetty and her husband

Earlier this year, actress Gehana Vasisth was arrested by the Mumbai police for her involvement in allegedly shooting and uploading adult content on mobile apps. She is currently out on bail but has hit headlines again, soon after Raj Kundra was arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch for his involvement in the production and distribution of pornographic content. Here’s taking a look at times when Gehana defended Shilpa Shetty's businessman husband.

In a bid to slam the concept of ‘porn’, Gehana went nude and recorded a live session on Instagram. The actress stated that she did it to find out from her viewers if she was looking ‘vulgar’ or ‘cheap’. Sharing the video on her Instagram handle, Gehana wrote, “without cloth live. m without cloth in this video but no one telling that it's a porn but when I wear all the clothes, some ppl claim porn. height of hypocrisy”.

In an interview with ETimes, Gehana told ETimes that Raj Kundra’s arrest was illegal. Explaining the same the actress said, “His arrest is completely illegal because the police have kept him in custody for 7-8 days, and, in the meanwhile, they have taken his mobile phone, laptop, CDs, and bank account details. If they want to make inquiries, they have enough proof already. Where is the need for them to keep him in custody? The charge sheet has been filed for months now".

Shilpa Shetty is married to Raj Kundra and reports suggest that while she was questioned, the actress had stated that Raj Kundra's app did not have pornographic content. Extending support to Shilpa, Gehana had stated that Shilpa was correct and that the Hotshots app never had any content that could be classified as pornography. The actress had also expressed that according to her, HotShots had never made any porn film but the content was bold films, erotic films, hot films, and that none of them were porn films.

Soon after Raj Kundra’s arrest, Gehana had issued a statement, revealing that she had not worked on porn movies with him and extended support to the businessman. Gehana had stated, “I have a small request for everyone to not compare bold and erotica cinema with porn. Raj Kundra and I have been arrested for the same case, we have the same investigation going on. I know what was being made under Kundra’s company. I have worked as a heroine in 3 films produced for Raj Kundra’s app. He never forced me to do anything, I was paid according to the work I did and deserved. I had no issues with the work or the payment I received. I had no objections to the content, nor did I have any bad experience of working on the sets. Those films were released very well and neither of those films were porn movies. Those who have a doubt can use Google search and look for those films and my other work. None of it can be classified as porn”.
