Pakistan court issues arrest warrant against ‘Hindi Medium’ actress Saba Qamar

‘Hindi Medium’ actress Saba Qamar has landed in trouble after a local court in Pakistan issued a bailable warrant against her. This action has been taken following a case that was registered against the actress last year for one for her controversial shoot.

Saba and others landed in trouble for shooting a dance video at a historical mosque in Lahore. Last year, the Lahore police had registered a case under section 295 of the Pakistan Penal Code for alleged ‘desecration’ of Masjid Wazir Khan. Saba Qamar and singer Bilal Saeed have been avoiding court hearings and hence Lahore’s magisterial court issued the bailable warrants.

Saba Qamar and singer Bilal Saeed reportedly apologies after facing severe criticism and death threats on social media.According to PTI, Saba had said, “It was the music video featuring a Nikah (marriage) scene. It was neither shot with any sort of playback music nor has it been edited to the music track.”

In April this year Saba Qamar had hit headlines for calling off her marriage with fiancé Azeem Khan. He is a Pakistani-Australian blogger and a businessman by profession. In a social media statement, the actress had revealed that she had never met Azeem Khan in her life and was calling off the wedding for ‘personal reasons’.

Saba had shared on Instagram, “Due to a lot of personal reasons I have decided to call it off with Azeem Khan, 'WE ARE NOT GETTING MARRIED NOW' hope you guys will support my decision just like you all have been supporting me always, and I guess it's never too late to realise the bitter realities! I also wanted to clear ONE IMPORTANT thing that is: "I have never Met Azeem Khan in my life we were only connected over the phone" It's a very hard time on me right now but as we all know 'THIS TOO SHALL PASS' Insha Allah.”
