Considering how Bollywood is constantly assessing what works and what doesn't for the box office, it comes as no surprise that they have invested in a plethora of biopics now. From Kangana Ranaut-starrer ‘Thalaivi’ to Alia Bhatt-starrer 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' to R Madhavan’s ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’, take a look at biopics that are all set to woo the audience back into theatres:

‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’

The powerhouse of talent, Alia Bhatt will be seen collaborating with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the first time for ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. The trailer of the movie has already got her fans all excited for the film. The film, based on a book by Hussain Zaidi titled ‘Mafia Queens in Mumbai’, is all set to hit the theatres on July 30, 2021.

‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’

After impressing in his many turns, R Madhavan tried his hands at directing a film with ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’. The actor will also be playing the titular role in the film. The biographical drama is based on the life of Nambi Narayanan, a former scientist and aerospace engineer of the Indian Space Research Organisation, who was accused of espionage.

‘Thalaivi’

Kangana Ranaut has stepped into the shoes of late actress-turned-politician J Jayalalithaa for her upcoming biopic, ‘Thalaivi’. The trailer and song of the movie have already got her fans excited and they are now eager to watch her as the enigmatic politician on the silver screen. The film is set to hit the theatres on April 23, 2021.

Sam Manekshaw biopic

Vicky Kaushal has teamed up with Meghna Gulzar for a biopic on Sam Manekshaw, the first Field Marshal of India. The actor will be seen essaying the role of the war hero in the film. Though an official announcement is yet to be made, his first look from the movie was unveiled on social media and the similarities between the actor and the one he is going to be portraying on screen, seem uncanny.

‘Shabhash Mithu’

Taapsee Pannu has taken it upon herself to surprise fans each time with her choice of films and performances. This time she is all set to essay the role of Indian cricketer Mithali Raj. Titled, ‘Shabhash Mithu’, the film is being directed by Rahul Dholakia of ‘Raees’ fame. Taapsee’s look as the cricketer has made fans look forward to the film's release.
