Ameesha Patel has returned to Mumbai after experiencing an unexpected travel disruption that left her briefly stranded in Muscat. The incident occurred after UAE authorities closed their airspace, forcing her flight to divert mid-journey. The actor was travelling from New York to Mumbai via Dubai on an Emirates flight. However, the journey took an abrupt turn due to sudden developments in the region.
The aircraft was diverted to Muscat after UAE airspace was shut down amid reports of fresh missile attacks. The situation led to uncertainty among passengers during the long-haul journey as reported by India Today.
Flight diverted Mid-Air to Muscat
The disruption occurred just as the flight was preparing to land in Dubai. The sudden closure of airspace forced the airline to reroute the aircraft for safety reasons. Ameesha Patel later described the experience as tense and unpredictable. The diversion added several hours of delay before passengers received further updates about their travel plans.
After safely returning to Mumbai, the actor took to X on Monday to share an update with her followers. She posted a picture with her travel companion and expressed gratitude for the support she received.
Before reaching Mumbai, Ameesha Patel had shared details of the incident while still stranded. She explained how the situation unfolded during the flight and the sudden change in route.
“On my way back to MUMBAI from NEW YORK on Emirates! As we were about to land in DUBAI, the airspace closed in the UAE due to fresh missile attacks! We have now been diverted to MUSCAT and are awaiting further updates!! When will this WAR end!! Praying (sic),”
On the professional side, Ameesha Patel was last seen in 'Tauba Tera Jalwa, which underperformed at the box office. Her most notable recent success remains 'Gadar 2'.
The ETimes review of 'Gadar 2' stated, "Ameesha Patel doesn’t have much to do except for tearfully waiting for the men in her life to come back home. Utkarsh Sharma gets some crucial scenes and while he’s pleasant, he lacks the screen presence required for this action drama. It’s not that 'Gadar 2' is badly made, it’s just full of characters that don’t have the depth to stir the desired emotion in you or hold your attention for too long. For Sunny Deol fans, the actor does bring back his star power and that quintessential roar that’s hard to miss in the film."
