Fairytale location, personalised outfits, two ceremonies: Here’s looking back at Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ colourful and vibrant wedding

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, who tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in 2018, have been blessing our social media feeds with glimpses of their love story ever since. Pictures and videos of their intimate-yet-grand wedding still do rounds on social media, making it one of the most unforgettable celebrity weddings in Bollywood. Today, on the occasion of their third anniversary, we take a look back at their colourful and vibrant wedding, right from the fairytale location to personalised outfits. Read on:

Priyanka and Nick chose Umaid Bhavan Palace in Rajasthan as their wedding venue where they hosted a four-day celebration. Decked up aptly for their grand wedding ceremonies, the palace looked absolutely stunning and provided a fitting background for Priyanka and Nick’s gorgeous pictures. The Umaid Bhavan Palace is reportedly one of the largest private residences in the world. The sprawling estate is part hotel, part museum and part residence. It was one of the last palaces to be built before Independence.

Priyanka and Nick had customised outfits made for all their wedding ceremonies. For the Christian ceremony, Priyanka was decked up in a Ralph Lauren bridal gown. She had a piece of lace from her mother-in-law’s wedding dress sewn into her own, as well as eight hand-stitched words: Nicholas Jerry Jonas, their wedding date, the names of her parents. Her 75-foot veil took everyone’s breath away. Jonas had a piece of lace from Chopra’s dress sewn into his lapel with the words, ‘My Jaan’.

For the Hindu ceremony, PC stunned in a red bridal lehenga with hand-embroidered and hand-cut silk organza flowers. Nick, on the other hand, wore a dhoti, embroidered with gold thread, as well as a turban and kurta top.

The couple also arranged for pre-wedding ceremonies to be enjoyed both by them and their families. From haldi, mehendi to the sangeet ceremony, the Chopra and Jonas family seemed to have had a ball of a time and the pictures and videos on social media are proof.

While Priyanka looked stunning in a multi-coloured lehenga at her mehendi ceremony, she dazzled in a shimmery golden saree during her sangeet ceremony. Nick, on the other hand, wore an Indian traditional kurta pyjama set for both ceremonies.

Priyanka and Nick decided to honour both their traditions by getting married in two different ceremonies – Christian and Hindu. Honouring Priyanka Chopra’s Hindu roots, the couple first wed with conventional pheras. Later, during the white wedding ceremony, the couple said ‘I do’ in a dreamy set-up with green and white floral decorations around. After this, they reportedly cut an 18-foot wedding cake done in the shape of a palace.

After all the festivities, Priyanka and Nick hosted multiple wedding receptions in Delhi and Mumbai for her industry friends and extended family. The first wedding reception was held in Delhi on December 4. The next one was held on December 19 in Mumbai for her extended family and friends. It was followed by another reception in Mumbai, the next day, on December 20 for Priyanka’s Bollywood friends and colleagues.
