Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015)

Salman portrayed he role of Pavan, a loving devotee of Bajrangbali and a clear-hearted man who assists in helping a mute Pakistani girl return to her family. Unlike his other action-centred movies, the audience witnessed a completely different Salman Khan in this movie. His out-of-the-box efforts of donning a completely opposite character of a timid man but at the same time strict to his morals and how he conveyed that truth always wins is what made the movie a hit. The film won a National Award, was critically acclaimed, and became one of the all-time highest-grossing Indian films. This movie proved that Salman was the man who could bring and touch the audience as we had never before witnessed.

Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994)

We were all introduced to the legendary character of 'Prem' in this movie. Salman, as Prem, was able to portray the tone of innocence and tenderness convincingly. The couple with Madhuri Dixit had genuine fireworks, and the film celebrated love, family, and culture. It would go on to be the highest-grossing film of the day, a record at the box office, and almost proved that Salman was the family hero of the 1990s. The classic family drama established the benchmark for Bollywood movies.

Andaz Apna Apna (1994)

The movie earned an unimpressive debut at the box office before becoming a classic hit. Salman's naive, silly Prem were great with Aamir Khan's Amar, and they became one of Bollywood's famous comic pairings. The movie will stay forever for those who have watched the cinema. Their delightful, light comedy timing had waves of laughter and was rightly regarded as one of Bollywood's hit comedies.

4/7

Maine Pyar Kiya (1989)

Salam Khan's soft romantic era started with this debut movie. As Prem, a young chap fighting for his love and to prove his worthy to his lover's father, is the storyline that made him an overnight star. The film became one of the biggest hits of Bollywood. Even the songs like 'Dil Deewana', and 'Kabootar Ja Ja Ja', became classics. The film established Salman as the new romantic hero.

5/7

Tere Naam (2003)

Salman Khan left a sadness in the hearts of moviegoers while playing Radhe, a guy who became a deranged lover and whose life took a tragic turn. The performance had a genuine, emotional side to it that was rarely displayed by Salman. The very melancholy movie and some great soundtrack contributed to making the movie unforgettable. Even today, when people talk about the best and most career-defining performances of Salman Khan, Tere Naam is always mentioned.

6/7

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999)

The classic love story of Sameer and Nandini won the hearts of the millennials. In Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s romantic classic, Salman plays Sameer, a fun-loving emerging musician with the don’t care attitude. There isn’t a second thought that our bhaijaan brought an amazing sense of humor, charm and depth to the character. His on-screen romantic chemistry with Aishwarya Rai was the icing on the cake. The movie displayed the intense and emotional side of Salman Khan’s character in the second half of the movie. The song Tadap Tadap ke became the national breakup song for many.

7/7

Dabangg (2010)

Similar to Tere Naam, Dabangg also had all the appeal and effortlessness that brought remarkable strength to the on-screen character Chulbul Pandey who portrayed a brave, smart, yet comical cop who accepted no residue. The dialogue-writing of the character, the action, and one-liners added alive choreography of style, swag, and mass appeal. With songs 'Munni Badnaam Hui' and 'Tere Mast Mast Do Nain', it was an amazing blockbuster that revived Salman Khan’s superstardom and netted 2 more sequels into a franchise right away.
