'Animal Park' update: Sandeep Reddy Vanga confirms mid-2027 shoot, Ranbir Kapoor to play double role

Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga has finally shared the update fans have been waiting for. The director has confirmed that 'Animal Park', the sequel to his 2023 blockbuster 'Animal', will go on floors in mid-2027. The announcement has reignited excitement around the universe led by Ranbir Kapoor, whose character Ranvijay Singh left a lasting impact in the first film.

Why the sequel is titled 'Animal Park'

During a virtual interaction with Japanese audiences following Animal’s premiere in the country, Vanga also explained the thought behind the sequel’s title. He said, “Animal Park will start soon once I finish the current film. There will be more animals in the film because Aziz is another animal. Keeping that in mind, it’s a war between two brothers who look alike, so I felt Animal Park would be the right title. We’ll start shooting in mid-2027.”




The filmmaker’s statement makes it clear that the sequel will dive deeper into the raw and brutal themes that defined the first part. The original film, which collected over Rs 900 crore worldwide, laid the foundation for this intense rivalry, and the sequel is expected to raise the stakes further.

Ranbir Kapoor excited to return

Ranbir Kapoor, who was present on the Zoom call, expressed his eagerness to return to the franchise. The actor will not only reprise his role as Ranvijay Singh but will also step into the antagonist’s role as Aziz. He said, “I can’t wait to get back on set with Sandeep and to play this character—and now another character. Because it’s a continuing story, he had the story of part two very clear in his mind while filming part one itself. It’s very inspiring for me as an actor. Sandeep and I keep chatting through the week or month, discussing different ideas. I really can’t wait to get back to playing Ranvijay and Aziz.”
