Ahead of 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari,' watch these Varun Dhawan romantic comedies

Varun Dhawan, with his cheeky smile, has been ruling the comedy genre of Bollywood – with his hit films and famous songs. While his filmography has a range with soulful films, the comedy genre has a special place in the hearts. From one-liner punches to emoting with his humorous expressions, the 38-year-old gave quite a ride through his movies. Let’s take a look at Varun Dhawan’s top comedy movies.

2/7

'Main Tera Hero'

The aura, the plot twists, and the insane comic timings – Varun Dhawan pulled off the role with finesse. “Kabhi Ayesha Kabhi Sunaina…” became unhinged with each delivery, and the 38-year-old surely knew how to ace the over-the-top antics. ‘Main Tera Hero’ is a quintessential masala movie that won't let anyone down when in need of a slapstick comedy film. The iconic love triangle with Ileana D’Cruz and Nargis Fakri was topped with the unmatched songs that still remain part of the playlists.

3/7

'Dilwale'

The chemistry between the romantic pairs was meant to be special, but the comic relief brought by Shah Rukh Khan and Varun Dhawan cannot be matched. Amid the terrifying plot twists and gasping stunts, the mere interactions, when Veer tries to confess his love or when he attempts to make the elder siblings date, are enough to become stress busters. With the light-hearted charm and family drama, ‘Dilwale’ has the balance needed for a romantic and action film.

4/7

'Dishoom'

A rookie cop and his attempt to ace the action-packed situations, but ends up being the comedy relief – Junaid. ‘Dishoom’ had patriotism, unprecedented cameos, and good cop - bad cop moments, making every minute a perfect blend. Varun Dhawan’s Juniad shook hands with John Abraham’s Kabir and Jacqueline Fernandez’s Ishika to give the accurate tadka to the entertainment combo. The film can get a fanatical on the edge of their seat, as well as rolling at the back laughing – and that’s a perfect formula to watch a Varun Dhawan film.

5/7

'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania'

Humpty Sharma does have a great fall when he tries to earn the love of his life from her family – but the attempts do bring unparalleled comic relief. The banter between Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt can make the viewers fall in love with them, while simultaneously creating a laughter hue. Whether it’s trying to sneakily meet her or a humorous interaction at a dhaaba, Dhawan knows the spaces, and he aces the timing with his expressions in ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania.’

6/7

'Badrinath Ki Dulhania'

Not a typical sequel, but certainly a refined version with lots of witty jokes and connections. From learning the formula of compound interest to getting mugged in a foreign country, Badrinath Bansal (Varun Dhawan) gave the perfect punchlines at the right time. Consequently, the film also discoursed on the value of gender equality and opportunities, hitting the audience extra hard. Meanwhile, the songs from ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ are learned, sung, choreographed, and played at every occasion.

7/7

'Jug Jugg Jeeyo'

Different from the previous characters, Kukoo Saini from ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ had a serious undertone, but Varun Dhawan performed the intricacies with flair. While the character falls in love with his wife again, the audience gets to dive deeper into the family relations and how truthful everyone is. Whether it’s a grand proposal on his torso or making jokes with his sister like a typical brother, Dhawan hailed the head high and made the viers chuckle every other second. From the songs to the scenes, the film didn’t hesitate to win the internet’s hearts.
