Helmed by Aditya Chopra, 'Mohabbatein 'has been one of the most-loved Hindi films of all time. The film featured Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Uday Chopra, Shamita Shetty, Jugal Hansraj, Kim Sharma, Jimmy Shergill, Preeti Jhangiani in leading roles. This musical romantic drama turned into a cult classic film. The film is about the battle between love and fear - A battle between two stubborn men and their conflicting beliefs. Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan played the role of Raj Aryan Malhotra. He stands for love and would go to any lengths for it. Narayan Shankar aka Amitabh Bachchan hires him as a new music teacher. Raj was a firm believer in the power of love and makes it a mission to spread love. The actor's performance in the film was highly appreciated. From his nerdy pair of glasses to pullovers sweaters, his look stayed with us even after 20 years of its release.

Aishwarya Rai

Aishwarya Rai played the role of Megha Shankar daughter of Narayan Shankar (played by Amitabh Bachchan). Megha dies at the beginning of the movie and comes in flashback scenes in the mind of Raj Malhotra (SRK). Raj and Megha fall in love with each other in the film. The actress' phenomenal style statements made everyone fall in love.

Amitabh Bachchan

In the film, Amitabh Bachchan was seen as Narayan Shankar, the strict principal of Gurukul, a prestigious all-boys college. He believes in bringing the best out of his students by highlighting honour, tradition, and discipline, with no room for fun and games. 'Mohabbatein' marked the first collaboration between Bachchan and Khan.

Uday Chopra and Shamita Shetty

In the film, Vicky aka Uday Chopra is attracted to Ishika (played by Shamita Shetty). Shetty essayed the role of a sporty and feisty student at the neighbouring all-girls college who resists Vicky's attempts to woo her. Did you know, Udya and Shamita were once rumoured to be dating? It is said that they were in a relationship during their ‘Mohabbatein’ days.

Jugal Hansraj and Kim Sharma

Jugal Hansraj played the role of Sameer, who is head over heels in love with Sanjana aka Kim Sharma, his childhood friend. But Sanjana already has a boyfriend named Deepak. Kim often shares throwback pictures from the sets of the film. A few days back, she shared a picture and revealed that it was taken in a make-up room in 1999. As soon as she shared the post, Fans wrote "Mohabbatein days'' in the comments section.

Jimmy Shergill and Preeti Jhangiani

Jimmy Shergill played the role of Karan, who falls for Kiran (Preeti Jhangiana), an elegant young widow whose military pilot husband has been shot down. Preeti made her big Bollywood debut in 2000 with this super hit film 'Mohabbbatein'. The actress was recently making headlines as she posted two throwback pictures on the social media platform which were clicked in Switzerland. The first photo has Preeti and Kim posing with the late filmmaker Yash Chopra and their moms against the backdrop of mountains.

Archana Puran Singh

Archana Puran Singh's character Preeto was one of the funniest characters in the movie. She was yet again paired with her 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' co-star Anupam Kher for this one. Their on-screen chemistry received praise from all the quarters. Her character became so relatable that even the younger lot from the 2000s' still admire her.
