'House of the Dragon', the prequel to 'Game of Thrones' nears its end, with its epic season finally set for its release on Monday. As one royal drama comes to an end, another will soon begin as fans of 'The Crown' get ready for another round of scandalous stories from Buckingham palace. Over the years, fans of the hit series have been lucky enough to see some of their favourite stars cross over to the other show and woo us with their acting chops. As we get ready to watch the former High Sparrow, Jonathan Pryce suits up to play Prince Philip, on the other side, the former Prince Philip, Matt Smith has set his sights on the Iron Throne. Here are some stars who have played characters in both hit series.

Jonathan Pryce, officially became the third 'Game of Thrones' alumni, to play the role of Prince Philip. The star who previously played the terrifyingly pious High Sparrow will get a taste of the royal life when he takes on the role of the late Prince in the final two seasons of the show.

Matt Smith as Prince Philip in 'The Crown' had his reservations about playing second fiddle to his wife, the Queen, but his turn as Daemon Targaryen in 'House of the Dragon', has changed all that. Although he is not technically in 'Game of Thrones', his character is mentioned in the show as one of Daenerys' 'dangerous' great-granduncles.

Tobias Menzies played the cowardly Edmure Tully, Lord of the Riverlands, and brother to Catelyn Stark. Fans got to watch him step up and become one of the most prominent figures in the Royal household when he played Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

After playing a character who conspires against King Baratheon, in 'Game of Thrones', Charles Dance tread familiar grounds when he took on the role of Lord Mountbatten in 'The Crown'. After winning hearts for his sinister and scheming role as Tywin Lannister, Charles had everyone hooked on to his 'cool' character of Uncle Dickie, until he goes on to establish a coup to overthrow the British government.
