Dune, No Time To Die, Shang-Chi: Hollywood films releasing in Maharashtra today

Diwali has arrived early for multiplexes in Maharashtra. As theatres around the state roll up the shutters and get the pop-corn spluttering, a bunch of Hollywood films have booked their Friday night date with the audience. While some films are just under a week old, others like James Bond and Marvel's Shang-Chi will stake their claim over the box office, almost a month after their global releases. Here are the much-awaited Hollywood blockbusters releasing in cinemas today.

Venom: Let There be Carnage

Tom Hardy's sequel of the 2018 hit film 'Venom', releases in Maharashtra on 22 October, a week after its pan-India release. Dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu languages, along with English, the film that also stars Woody Harrelson, Michelle Williams and Naomi Harris in pivotal roles, sees Hardy return as the journalist Eddie Brock who becomes an anti-hero after his body plays host to the alien entity Venom.

Dune

Denis Villeneuve's highly-anticipated film 'Dune' also hits Indian screens today, October 22. The film which will be available in Hindi and English, is based on Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel that is considered as one of the most influential books of the 20th century.

A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, 'Dune' tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people.

No Time To Die

Fans in the state of Maharashtra have finally earned their license to thrill as Daniel Craig's 'No Time To Die' finally releases in theatres. After a month-long wait, cinema lovers in the state will finally get their chance to cash in on all the hype and rave reviews around the 25th movie of the James Bond franchise. The film that has broken all box office records for Hollywood films this year in the country releases in English and Hindi.

The Last Duel

Those in a mood for a historical drama can take a trip back in time with Ridley Scott's 'The Last Duel'. Headlined by Matt Damon, Adam Driver, Jodie Comer and Ben Affleck, the film is described as "a gripping tale of betrayal and vengeance set against the brutality of 14th century France".

Fun fact, this movie is based on actual events, and it unravels long-held assumptions about France’s last sanctioned duel between Jean de Carrouges (Damon) and Jacques Le Gris (Driver).

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings', Marvel's first all-Asian superhero film will hit theatre screens in the state today. The film, which opened to huge box office numbers and rave reviews across the globe, was released in other parts of the country in September but could not open in Maharashtra as theatres remained shut. The film also stars Awkwafina, Tony Leung, Michelle Yeoh and Fala Chen in pivotal roles.
