'Deadpool and Wolverine': Iron Man to dead Ant-Man and more MCU Easter Eggs in the trailer

In the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe, every other film and frame holds hidden connections, callbacks, and easter eggs waiting to be discovered by ardent fans and the newest instalment 'Deadpool & Wolverine' will prove to be just the same. The new trailer that dropped online has fans double-checking every last frame to spot as many references that not only pay homage to the comics but also intertwine the Marvel movies to the web series and more. From the blink-and-you-miss-it Iron Man nod to the giant Ant-Man's corpse, a recreated Spider-Man scene and more, here are some of the biggest easter eggs fans have been buzzing about.

2/8

Classic Comic-Accurate Wolverine Suit

It's a Deadpool movie, but it is Hugh Jackman's return as the Wolverine that has fans buzzing. With the new trailer featuring everyone's favourite mutant in his iconic yellow and blue suit, the excitement around his appearance has gone up a notch. The trailer teases the superhero in a comic-book accurate costume with ripped off sleeves, hinting at a possible appearance of the classic cowl mask.

3/8

Recreated Spider-Man fight scene

The trailer teases blood, gore and epic superhero showdowns, but did you know that it also paid homage to 2002 film 'Spide-Man'? Fans noted that Deadpool's epic fight scene with Wolverine in the trailer seemed like a recreated version of Tobey Maguire's fight scene in the first ever 'Spider-Man' movie.

4/8

Deadpool's newest villain Cassandra Nova

Meet Cassandra Nova, Deadpool's newest adversary. Portrayed by Emma Corrin, Cassandra Nova is said to be the evil sister of Professor X aka Charles Xavier. Much like her brother, she too wields powers of telepathy and telekines and rules over the multiversal wasteland, commanding her own Brotherhood of Mutants.

5/8

The death of Ant-Man

The visuals of Ant-Man's remains, serving as the headquarters for Cassandra Nova and her mutant minions, serve as a grim easter egg. The visuals give us glimpses of the corpse of Scott Lang's Giant Man along with his costume and mask, serving as the group's quarters in the Void. His skull is even converted into Nova's very own Cerebro. Other visuals tease the death of another character, possibly Wasp or even Yellowjacet.

6/8

Iron Man on Red Skull car

In a blink-and-you-miss-it appearance, Iron Man's mask features in the film. The mask appears to be at the front of Red Skull's car, repurposed and revamped within the Void. With Pyro claiming ownership, the vehicle undergoes a fiery transformation. The classic X-Men villain Pyro (Aaron Stanford) is confirmed to make an appearance in the Void as seen in the first Deadpool & Wolverine trailer.

7/8

Lady Deathstrike and Azazel return

Catch a fleeting glimpse of Lady Deathstrike, confirming her long-rumored appearance in the film. In another rather unexpected appearance, fans were pleased to find Azazel making a surprising comeback, hinting at a deeper exploration of his backstory. With ties to Mystique and a newfound allegiance to Cassandra Nova, Azazel's role promises to unveil untold secrets from his past.

8/8

Doctor Strange's multiverse portal

The trailer ends with Deadpool and Wolverine jumping through what seems very similar to Doctor Strange's multiverse portal. The two heroes are seen jumping into another dimension, which has fans guessing if the portal will be their way out of the Void, or another timeline, consideing they are both expected to return for 'Avengers: Secret Wars'.
