A whole lot of Bengali cinema’s golden era was ruled by this pair. Be it ‘Apur Sansar’, ‘Aranyer Din Ratri’ or ‘Barnali’, the handsome Soumitra Chatterjee gave a tough fight to legendary actor Uttam Kumar as he dazzled his best with a charming Sharmila Tagore by his side. The late fifties in Bengali industry welcomed another historic jodi to the 70mm screen: Sabitri Chattopadhyay and Uttam Kumar. The evergreen pair worked together in as many as 39 hit movies. Some of the most popular works of Sabitri and Uttam Kumar was in films like 'Mouchak', 'Grihadaha, Shesh Anko', 'Raja Saja', 'Marutirtha Hinglaj', 'Abhoyer Biye', 'Abak Prithibi' etc.

Koel Mallick and Jeet Madnani

One of the most successful onscreen jodis of Bengali cinema, Koel Mallick and Jeet Madnani are regarded as superstars in their own right. Even the fans once gave them the sweet nickname ‘Jeko’. Koel and Jeet also has a great off-screen chemistry which reflected on the celluloid and the cinelovers never getting enoughof her acting. Subhashree Ganguly and Dev Adhikari

This jodi became Bengali film industry’s one of the most iconic status for love and romance. The pair, termed as the poster child of reel-time chemistry, featured in several box office hits. Rituparna Sengupta and Prosenjit Chatterjee

The inseparable screen duos of the 90s, who parted ways after ‘Jamaibabu Zindabad’ in 2001, had gifted some smashing hits at the box office. There was no such formal announcement on the surprising breakup of the pair, but it was clear Prasenjit and Rituparna were not interested in working with each other anymore. It took 15 long years to bring back the jodi as they played the lead characters in 2016 hit ‘Praktan’. They are once again teaming up for Kaushik Ganguly’s next movie ‘Dristikone’.

Commercial hits like 'Bhalo Meye Mondo Meye', 'Arpan', 'Jiban', 'Bhalobasa Bhalobasa', 'Dadar Kirti', 'Aagaman' gave Tapas Pal and Debashree so much fame.
