‘Raavan’ trailer: Five takeaways from Jeet’s visual spectacle, promising an action entertainer

Be it the exciting dialogues or unbelievable action sequences, superstar Jeet returns to his usual larger-than-life avatar. In the recently released trailer for his next ‘Raavan’, directed by MN Raj, the actor leaves his fan in awe with the dual role of Professor Ram Mukherjee and Raavan. The latter brings out his inner devil to fight the evil deep inside our law-and-order system. Let’s take a look at five takeaways from the visually spectacular ‘Raavan’ trailer.

2/6

Jeet is back!

Jeet makes a superb entry in the trailer and the dialogue, “Raavan never dies. Despite knowing this, we burn Raavan every year, but Raavan never dies”, gives a glimpse of what to expect in his comeback film. Like the mythological character and worshipper of Shiva, Jeet as Raavan has a tattoo of the deity on his arm and his strength to fight the evil comes from it.

3/6

Engaging story

The trailer introduces a charming and handsome Ram Mukherjee, a professor of journalism who, with his completely contrasting characteristics, wins the heart of his student (played by Lahoma Bhattacharya). It will be interesting to see if Jeet's character in ‘Raavan’ has a split personality or he shifts to his alternative personae on his own in order to maintain a balance between good and evil.

4/6

Tollywood’s own Raavan

The engaging trailer makes it a point that it’s a tale of Raavan, instead of the charming professor. The romantic song sequences between the professor and his student soon transforms into crowd-pleasing action-packed stunts while Raavan strikes hard to teach the corrupt police department a lesson.

5/6

Twisting plot

The twist in the plot comes when inspector Jahan (Tnusree Chakraborty) vows to find Raavan with the help of Ram for disrupting the law and order system. Raavan, meanwhile, continues his fight trowing an open challenge to Jahan.

6/6

Visual spectacle for big screen

As we see in the trailer, the plot blends romance, comedy and action of a typical commercial potboiler, Jeet’s vicious dialogues and appearance deliver an entertaining aspect to the good versus evil fight from the Ramayana. The trailer undoubtedly raises the expectation bar. The use of visual effects in the thrilling action sequences look all too good for a big-screen experience and also the fierce, larger-than-life look of Jeet is something to watch out for.

‘Raavan’ is set for a theatrical release on 29 April.
